I joined several of your mailing lists from your websites but have not received any newsletters as of yet. Are they still in operation? I am looking for guidance in learning how to enter and run my own African Antique Dealership. Can you help?. Where do i start? What do i do to learn about the business and the antiques? please help. thanks
hello David. I have been trying to reach you. Have you a personal email address i can use? thanks
Hi David,
It is a good question. In African Art in American Collections on page 74 they explain that to honor the deity KORE, masks representing hyenas, monkeys, and other animals are worn in dances by membersof the Kore association, and that the young initiates of the NDOMO wear masks adorned with cowrie shells.
For your information this mask turned out to be a “not so old” one, so I sold it for a low price.
what type of mask is this I have on every similar, (bamana menist) I can only see the picture what about a description?
